Making Outreach More Visible
UK employment data shows there are still clear differences in employment rates between ethnic groups. GOV.UK data based on the 2022 Annual Population Survey found that 69% of working age people from ethnic minority groups were employed, compared with 77% of white people. Among 16 to 24 year olds, the figures were 39% and 58% respectively.
Those figures cannot tell an employer what happened in an individual recruitment campaign. They do, however, give recruitment teams a reason to look more closely at how vacancies are promoted and whether targeted outreach forms part of their attraction activity.
For an employer, the useful question is not simply whether a vacancy was advertised. It is whether the organisation can see which channels were used, when the activity took place and how individual campaigns compare.
Ethnic Jobsite can sit alongside an ATS, multiposter, recruitment agency and other recruitment channels as a specialist route to ethnic minority candidates.
Keeping a vacancy level record of that activity can make targeted outreach easier to review before shortlisting and provide clearer evidence for recruitment reporting, supplier assurance and future campaign decisions.
