School Receptionist - Sheerness

Academics Ltd are currently working with a friendly and welcoming school in Sheerness who are looking to appoint an experienced School Receptionist to join their busy front office team.

Previous experience working within a school environment is essential. We are looking for someone who understands the demands of a busy school office and can confidently manage reception duties while providing a professional and welcoming service to pupils, parents, staff and visitors.

The Role

As the School Receptionist, you will be responsible for ensuring the front office runs efficiently and professionally. Duties will include:

• Welcoming pupils, parents, visitors and staff to the school.
• Managing the school`s main reception and ensuring visitors follow safeguarding procedures.
• Answering telephone calls and responding to emails and general enquiries.
• Managing incoming and outgoing post, deliveries and correspondence.
• Updating and maintaining accurate pupil and school records.
• Supporting attendance administration and other office-based tasks.
• Completing general administration including filing, scanning, photocopying and data entry.
• Providing administrative support to the wider school office and Senior Leadership Team.
• Handling confidential information professionally and appropriately.
• Helping to ensure the school office remains organised and efficient throughout the day

The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Previous school-based reception or administration experience - essential.
• A good understanding of working within a busy school environment.
• Experience using SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom or another school MIS is desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A friendly, approachable and professional manner.
• Strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to remain calm and professional when working in a busy reception.
• A strong understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
