As an Environment Officer (Conservation), you will play a key role in delivering the Sustainable Management of Natural Resources (SMNR) through a multi-functional, place-based team. You will use your technical expertise to regulate Protected Sites by assessing and consenting activities, support their proactive management through the provision of specialist advice, guidance, management agreements and partnerships, and provide expert conservation input across internal teams, functions and directorates. The role also involves contributing to the delivery of projects and mitigation schemes, both directly and through partnerships, to protect, enhance and improve the environment.

Driving is essential to this role. Due to the remote nature of many locations and limited public transport links, there is no practical alternative to travelling by vehicle. You must hold a full, current UK driving licence.

This role is a fixed-term position until 31/03/2028 with the possibility of extension or permanency.

As an organisation we support flexible working. You will be contracted to an NRW office within the place base / location above and a suitable hybrid working pattern will be agreed on appointment. Any regular face to face meetings or training will be planned in advance.
