Porter (Bank) - The Manor Hospital - Bank Shifts - Salary: £12.71 per hour

The Manor Hospital in Bedford is part of Circle Health Group, Britain`s leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Porter to join our team in the Portering department.

This is a bank role working on an "as and when required" basis; you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.

Must be available to work Weekends.

Duties of this role include:

• Undertake a range of general and ad hoc tasks on a day-to-day basis to meet the requirements of the site such as patient, equipment, and goods (e.g., pharmacy goods) movement.
• Driving required to complete blood runs where required.
• Explain hospital facilities and services to patients and family members when escorting people to rooms or other hospital areas.
• Provide a courteous service to internal and external customers.
• Ensure patient comfort and dignity are always maintained.
• Provide security for the facility as required within each specific hospital, ensuring compliance of security processes and external patrols are covered as appropriate to the hospital.
• Comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Front line customer facing experience.
• Previous portering experience in a healthcare, hotel or hospitality setting would be beneficial.
• Maths, English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
• Proficiency in the use of a PC, including the use of software and systems.
• UK Driving license.
