MPA Recruitment are currently recruiting a Band 3 Bus Driver with Caring Duties. The post holder will support the Trust in the delivery of a high quality service within the Transport Department

As a Bus Driver with Caring Duties, you will be responsible for safely transporting passengers to their destinations while providing a high level of care and support. With core skills in driving and a Category D Licence, you will navigate routes efficiently and ensure passenger safety at all times.

Your premium skills in mechanical knowledge, commercial driving, and maintenance will be essential in maintaining the vehicle`s performance and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist service users to and from Trust facilities, centres, clubs, and outings.
• Support individuals with mobility needs, including wheelchair users and those using walking aids, ensuring safe transfer and secure restraint during transport.
• Assist with activities and outings under the direction of the Facility Manager.
• Provide basic First Aid and respond appropriately in emergencies, including reporting incidents and arranging medical assistance when required.
• Assist with emergency evacuations when necessary.
• Transport and safely handle supplies, equipment, meals, laundry, pharmacy items, furniture, and other materials, obtaining signatures where required.
• Participate in training and on-call duties as required.

Vehicle Responsibilities

• Drive Trust vehicles safely, legally, and with consideration for passengers and cargo.
• Carry out routine vehicle checks and minor maintenance, including fuel, oil, water, tyres, and basic repairs.
• Maintain accurate vehicle records, including fuel usage, journey logs, defects, and accident reports.
• Keep vehicles clean, tidy, and roadworthy.
• Operate vehicle lifts and ramps safely.

General Responsibilities

Qualifications / Experience Required

• Category D licence
• CPC card
• Minimum of 12 months experience of driving minibus and/or coaches

Hours and Pay

• 37.5 hours per week
• Monday - Friday
• £12.75
• Weekly Pay
• Holiday Fund
