CAREERS CHOICES DEWIS GYRFA (CCDG) / CAREERS WALES
Board Directors of the CCDG are not employees and serve in a voluntary, unpaid capacity. Directors will be appointed for a period of 3 years with a minimum time commitment of 10 days per year. One appointment is due to start September 2025 and the other January 2026.
Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa (CCDG) (operating under the name of Careers Wales), is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Welsh Government which delivers the all age, independent and impartial careers information, advice and guidance service for Wales. Ultimately, Careers Wales supports young people and adults, to become more effective at planning and managing their careers.
The Welsh Government is looking to recruit 3 committed, enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join CCDG Board and help drive their vision to create brighter futures for the people of Wales. CCDG Board Directors collectively play a vital role in the governance and leadership of the company, ensuring that it operates effectively, ethically, and in accordance with its purpose, values and legal obligations. Successful candidates will be expected to have a genuine interest in the work of careers services and will be expected to develop an understanding of Careers Wales, and their internal structure and culture.
As a Director of CCDG Board you will have the opportunity to support Careers Wales develop their new strategy as well as:
• Assist the Chair in providing strong, effective and visible leadership to CCDG.
• Play a key role in ensuring the organisation delivers against its term of government remit set by Welsh Ministers.
• Be accountable for the performance of the CCDG.
• Develop key relationships with partners.
CCDG board meetings are held quarterly, two are via Teams and two take place at venues across Wales. Fel Cyfarwyddwr Bwrdd CCDG, byddwch yn helpu Gyrfa Cymru i ddatblygu ei strategaeth newydd a hefyd yn:
• cynorthwyo'r Cadeirydd i roi arweiniad cryf, effeithiol a gweladwy i CCDG
• chwarae rôl allweddol wrth sicrhau bod y sefydliad yn cyflawni ei amcanion yn ôl ei gylch gwaith tymor y llywodraeth a bennir gan Weinidogion Cymru.
• atebol am berfformiad CCDG.
• datblygu cysylltiadau allweddol â phartneriaid.
Mae cyfarfodydd bwrdd CCDG yn cael eu cynnal bob chwarter. Cynhelir dau drwy Teams a dau mewn lleoliadau ledled Cymru.
Mae'n bolisi gan Llywodraeth Cymru i hyrwyddo ac integreiddio cyfle cyfartal i bob agwedd ar ei busnes gan gynnwys penodiadau i gyrff cyhoeddus. Mae ceisiadau’n cael eu croesawu a’u hannog gan bob grŵp ac rydym yn sicrhau nad oes unrhyw ymgeisydd cymwys am swydd gyhoeddus yn derbyn triniaeth lai ffafriol ar sail oedran, anabledd, rhyw, statws priodasol, cyfeiriadedd rhywiol, ailbennu rhywedd, hil, crefydd neu gred, neu feichiogrwydd a mamolaeth.
