Flexible Bank Support Worker

Weston Super Mare, Somerset

Hourly rate from £9.90 & Weekly Pay, plus Brilliant Benefits

Various hours / shifts available across a 24/7 rota

This is an exciting time to join Home Group – one of the UK’s Largest Housing providers and be part of our brilliant flexible bank. You’ll support our amazing customers, while picking and choosing the shifts you want to work.

We help our customers by focussing on tenancy support. As our Support Worker, you’ll support by helping them to manage their tenancy and rent accounts. You’ll also support our customers with their housing benefit claims and making sure that these are received on their rent account. 

You’ll turn around vacant bed spaces so that new customers who need our help can move in quickly. You’ll also make sure our service achieves maximum occupancy, and that we are health and safety compliant!

One day you might be helping our customer manage their finances by planning, budgeting and shopping for essential items or supporting them to complete household tasks. The next you might be off to the seafront for some fresh air and exercise and maybe some fish and chips!

About you

As our Support Worker, you’re a real people person! You thrive on working with a range of vulnerable customers, who all have different support needs, as well as working with colleagues and professionals.

Although you’ll have the heart of a Lion, you’ll sometimes need the skin of a Rhino. However, this won’t take away from the caring nature you display towards your customers.

You’ll be flexible to work at short notice, as you’ll be the one picking your next shift. The great news is that you’ll gain loads of experience.

You may already work with vulnerable people or have done so in the past, however it’s not a deal-breaker if you haven’t. To be brilliant, you’ll have a solid work ethic, caring attitude, and the desire to learn and make a difference.

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.

Where you’ll do your job 

We’re looking for you to work in our supported accommodation service in Weston Super Mare. There’s lots for you to do and get involved in, from focussing on supporting our customers in achieving their hopes and aspirations to working with them on their bespoke support plans.

You’ll go home each day knowing that you’ve made an amazing difference to vulnerable people’s lives. How amazing is that?

Casual job

Working on our bank, you’ll be able to pick and choose your shifts – as the service is staffed 24/7 these will include evenings, weekends and waking night shifts. As busy as you are, you should be able to do this on the go via your mobile device!
