Housing Concierge Waking Nights

Permanent, Full Time (37 hpw)

We have a fabulous job opportunity for you to join our awesome team as our Waking Nights Housing Concierge. We support our brilliant customers who have a Housing need or requirement i.e. Homelessness, Substance Misuse problems, Prison Release and Mental Health needs.

Our customers live in a 24-bed complex that has 2 blocks with 12 rooms in each block. There are communal kitchens and lounge areas in both blocks. The scheme is located On Peter Street in Whitehaven, Cumbria.

We help our customers rebuild their housing needs with support from a dedicated team of staff.

As our Waking Nights Housing Concierge, you’ll play a really important role in supporting the smooth running of our service. You’ll make sure that our buildings and customers are safe and secure, and that we get on with our neighbours!

About you

As our Housing Concierge, you’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative.

You should have knowledge of working on a computer and will be given guidance and support to develop these skills.

It would be amazing if you have had a job in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to making this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.

On the job working hours

We provide 24-hour support to our customers each and every day. In this job you’ll work during the twilight hours doing waking nights. 

You’ll work 37.5 hours on a rota basis and take your turn working nights, weekends and bank holidays. 

We look need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you! 

About our team

Although you’ll work nights, we do get together regularly in the daytime for training and team meetings. You’ll be part of our wider team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us were not just a team we’re a ‘work family’.

Our manager is Michael Coverdale who wanting to build a very pro-active team that will give 100% to our customers. We are building a new team and when in place will consist of 1 Support Coordinator who is already in place, 5 Support Workers and 2 Night Concierge. Nicola the Support Coordinator will oversee the development of the Support Workers and Night Concierges with support from the Manager of the service.
