Waking Nights Supported Living Worker

Permanent, Part Time (35 hpw)

Salary of circa £18,576 pro rata plus brilliant benefits

Empowering customers to live rewarding and happy lives. That’s when it hits home.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a brilliant Waking Nights Supported Living Worker to join our fab and supportive team. Our GOOD Rated CQC registered service provides support to our brilliant customers who have learning disabilities and/or autism within an accommodation support setting. Gainford House provides supported living to 10 customers who have a tenancy of their own in a self-contained property.

You’ll support our customers to live their day to day lives as independently as possible. The team will tell you that no two days are ever the same because everything we do is “person centred” around our customers. Like our team, we’re sure you’ll find the role rewarding.

As our waking night Support Worker offer our customers a first point of call when needed. You’ll be a lone worker during the night but have a sleeping night colleague as backup. During your shift you could be asked to support with personal care (like bathing and issuing medication). You’ll also make sure all records are up to date, auditing customer files, safeguarding the building and carrying out some cleaning duties.

About our team

Although you’ll work nights, we do get together regularly in the day time for training and team meetings. You’ll be part of our wider team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements.  To us were not just a team we’re a ‘work family’.  We are all so passionate about supporting customers and celebrating their achievements.  To us we are not just a team, we are a work family.  Lesley is our Registered Manager who likes nothing better than loud annoying music and going to see bands in her spare time.  Vikki is the Client Services Manager who is affectionately known as the Christmas elf; sporting her 25 festive jumpers throughout December.  There are 15 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!

Working hours

We provide 24-hour support to our customers each day and every day. In this role you’ll work during the twilight hours doing waking nights. You’ll work 3 days on & 3 days off on a rota basis and you’ll also have the opportunity to work days on overtime to cover holidays. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the work/life balance spending time doing the things that matter to you the most.
