As a software team we're concentrating on being more efficient, digitally focussed and creative by using the latest technologies, ensuring that our customers are at the heart of everything we do. You’ll build high quality, innovative and fully performing software solutions that conform to coding standards and technical design. You will manage the activities throughout the full software development lifecycle, including design, development, transition, operation and continual improvement. You’ll ensure that all IT applications are well designed, highly resilient and cost effective.
About our team
You’ll work alongside our fabulous team who are passionate about building and delivering innovative Digital solutions using the latest technologies. To us were not just a team we’re a ‘work family’. The Digital Development team is currently made up of developers, DevOps and UX Designers. There is our manager Darren, who has been here about 18 months and is a passionate Liverpool fan (don’t hold that against him!), our Scrum Master (Mark) and DevOps (Callum) who have come up through the ranks in Home Group, and Adele our camper van loving UX designer, to name a few. We work closely with our testers and product owners to form our Scrum teams. We don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!
A bit about you
You have experience as a software developer or engineer and are able to develop web and mobile applications using open stack technologies (React and Node JS) within Azure environments. You have knowledge in test driven development and software engineering tools, as well as having experience of delivering apps using Agile methodologies. With a customer focused approach, you recognise the department’s role as a service provider to the business, ensuring a high-quality service always.
Where you'll work
We have invested heavily in our IT infrastructure to allow us to work in an agile way. You could choose to be based from your home (we’re all working this way at the moment), anywhere around the country or if you prefer company you could work from one of our regional hubs. Our Head Office is in Newcastle upon Tyne, so you will need to come and visit us Geordies once in a while! It will be great when we are all able to meet up again!
