St James’s Church, Piccadilly                      

VERGER – either full time role or 
2 part time roles

Full time role: 35 hours/5 days per week on a rota system; or
2 x part time roles: 21 hours/3 days per week on a rota system
Remuneration: full time - £26,221 pa; part time - £15,732.60 pa
7.5% pension contribution by St James’s with .5 contribution 
by the employee.

St James’s Church draws together a diverse set of activities, projects

central London. The congregation is a gathered and highly committed

The successful applicant/s will need to have good communication and 
practical skills including knowledge of live streaming and the use of 
dual-camera video relay equipment. 

Previous Verger experience is not essential, although the 
successful applicant/s will be open, energetic, willing to learn,
the ability to work as part of a team and in sympathy with 
the church’s aims and ethos – refer to website www.sjp.org.uk

Main responsibilities: to service all events taking place, and 
to keep the Church and site safe, tidy and secure.
