Supporting the Vice-Chancellor and working closely with members of the University Executive Team, you will lead on strategic, financial and operational planning of the academic aspects of the university, taking responsibility for the overall academic vision of the institution and leading on academic change to achieve that vision.

There is no stronger concentration of world-leading pure and applied bioscience, alongside first-class clinical facilities, in the UK.
You will be of Professorial or equivalent standing, with a research reputation and profile commensurate with a senior academic leadership role. You will have a successful track record in the leadership and management of learning and teaching, and student experience in the Higher Education sector at a senior management level, as well as a thorough knowledge of the key planning issues impacting the Higher Education sector (including international context). With proven influencing skills and the ability to represent the University’s interests in policy debates at local, regional and national level you will be resilient and have the ability to ability to take tough decisions and maintain a clear, well evidenced position in the face of disagreement.
