We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We support our brilliant customers, who have a diagnosis of severe and enduring mental health conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar, EUPD, personality disorders, anxiety and depression, and may also have substance misuse issues and/or a mild learning disability.
This fantastic role is mainly based within one of our 24/7 services in Lowestoft, which provides support to customers living in the service. You may also work within any of the services within our cluster. All have access to a local out of hours on call system to support colleagues/ customers in the event of an emergency.
We help our customers to learn or regain daily living skills such as budgeting, managing a tenancy, caring for themselves, accessing education, training and voluntary opportunities, supporting to maintain their mental health and well-being, supporting to appointments and social activities either within the service/organisation or in the community to enable customers to gain the skills they want and need to be ready for move on into the community.

About our team
You’ll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us we’re not just a team we’re a “work family”. Our Manager is Ruth and she has gained a wealth of experience working with our customer group. Ruth has worked with vulnerable adults for the last 11 years in a variety of settings such as hospital discharge through to the rehabilitation of offenders on release from prison. There are 17 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too! Lisa, Heather, Elisha and others can’t wait to meet you and welcome you to the team.
We provide 24-hour support to our customers each day and every day. You’ll work on a rota basis, taking your turn covering sleep in’s starting at 17:00 to midnight sleep in until 07:00 and finish at 09:00, typical day shifts are 08:30-17:00, 09:00-21:00 and take your turn working days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!
You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds.
We help change our customer’s lives for the better. You’ll play your part by assisting in the delivery of tasks that are based on our customers personal support plans, and their needs and aspirations. You’ll work with our Senior Support Workers and external agencies to assess and engage support for our customers. We empower our customers to develop the independent living skills they need, to successfully move on. Together we’ll make a difference!
To keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)
To make sure our customers are well supported, it’s important that you have worked in a 24-hour supported housing environment before. Don’t worry, we won’t drop you in the deep end, we’ll help to you understand how things work at Home Group!
You will have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.
Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank. You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid on a weekly basis.

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
