About the Role
This is an opportunity for a Senior Data Scientist to oversee our Geospatial Data Exploitation activities within our Data Science & Analytics team at Ordnance Survey - to provide geospatial data science expertise and leadership across a variety of data science projects.
In this role, you will use your skills and experience to extract new data and information from existing geospatial and non-geospatial datasets using a full range of techniques, from traditional coding and data processing, to cutting-edge machine learning algorithms – all approached with an expert geospatial mindset. You will also be familiar with cloud-based and distributed analytics environments such as Apache Spark and Databricks and will understand the strengths and weaknesses of different approaches to working with geospatial data.
You will be highly customer focused, always considering the customer business problem in everything you do and working as closely with customers as possible at every stage. You will provide expert advice to stakeholders in applying analysis, data-mining techniques and data modelling to optimise decisions across the business, and will provide thought-leadership, consultancy and technical expertise to external clients in geospatial data analytics and implementation.
