About the role:

We are looking for a proactive Test Lead to join our test community within the Technology and Design group. You will lead test activities for investment projects and maintenance, providing test assurance by defining and promoting testing best practices across all projects within the domain. Manage and execute the test outcomes that meet the requirements and ambitions of our customers and the organisation while supporting effective agile delivery.

As part of the role you will:

• Create test strategies for cross-functional investment projects, liaising with business customers and Product Owners to understand risk and scope of change
• Liaise with Project Managers, Delivery Managers and Lead Engineers to provide estimates on test activities during the shaping of new projects
• Advocate test best practice to ensure efficient and successful delivery across all domains
• Line management responsibilities, including coaching and mentoring team members
• Inform and influence policies, collaborating with technical stakeholders to develop current and relevant test practices
• Develop the test community and understand test training requirements to deliver the maximum benefit to the business

What we’re looking for:

• Leading test activities across multiple projects in an agile environment
• Knowledge of agile methodologies and software engineering best practice
• Knowledge of industry test best practices and test automation in test first environment
• Knowledge of functional and non-functional testing
• Coaching and mentoring team members to improve agile team delivery
• Providing project assurance and peer reviews
• Knowledge and skills of using test tools, such as JMeter, Python, Selenium and Web Inspect
• Managing risks and adopting risk-based approach to test
• Co-ordinating a multifunctional test team, planning, estimating and tracking progress against plan
• Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of business and technical stakeholders
• Experience of managing testing for cloud-based solutions, in Microsoft Azure
• Awareness of geospatial systems and technologies is desirable but not essential
