We are a social enterprise and charity and one of the UK's largest providers of high quality housing and integrated housing, health and social care. What makes us No. 10 in the UK’s Best Large Places to Work and gives us Investors in People Gold Standard?  It’s our brilliant people and culture! We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join us as one of our Digital UX Designers.

As an IS team we are setting out to be more digitally focussed, using the latest technologies, whilst ensuring that our customers are at the heart of everything we do. Our strategy is set, our direction is clear. What comes next is to apply our skills and experience through brilliant team work to innovate, design, and implement digital systems that deliver real business value.

Our customers are central to everything we do. We worked with almost 300 of our customers nationwide to develop our Customer Promise; a set of guiding statements where they can measure how we’re performing and hold us accountable to them. And they’re not just words – we’ve been achieving some great things alongside them and their communities and Digital innovation is the next step.

About our team
You’ll work as part of our fabulous Digital Development team, sat within IS, who are passionate about designing, building and delivering innovative Digital solutions for our customers, using the latest techniques and technologies. The team is currently made up of UX Designers, Developers and DevOps.

You’ll work in an agile manner with our Developers, UX Designers, User Researcher, Testers and Product Owners to design and convey user-centred designs and improve the current user experience and journeys for our varied customer base. You will also use your skills to help shape our digital roadmap and help get the most from our digital products and prioritise our product development.

To us were not just a team we’re a ‘work family’. We love to socialise and get out and about with things like curry night and badminton to name a few. We don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too! We’ve built an excellent team foundation to build upon as our technical portfolio develops and expands; that’s where you come in.

A bit about you
You’re an organised, proactive, energetic, people person, and you’ll advocate for our customers and their experience! You have an understanding of industry standard design patterns and if you also have experience in interaction design principles that would really impress us. You’ll join us working agile, and in using programs like Sketch, Adobe CC and Axure amongst others. We have an in-house user researcher who you will work closely with to use data and insights from customers to create innovative solutions. You're a creative problem solver who uses design thinking methodologies to optimise the delivery of your digital products.

Working flexibility
Here at Home Group we believe flexibility works both ways. Our focus is on getting the job done, not your working hours! Despite the difficult situation we have all been able to work productively and safely from our own homes and when things ‘go back to normal’, whatever that may be, our flexibility will remain, whether that be predominately from the office or your own home. You will be able to work collaboratively and share best practices amongst the team.
