Salary of £18,100 to £19,450 pa [Pro-rated]

Sleep In Shifts of £35.00 and On Call Shifts of £14.30 per shift

£9.26 per hour if you’d prefer to work on our bank on a casual basis

We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We support our brilliant customers who have housing needs and have been placed in temporary accommodation whilst their homelessness application are being reviewed by West Suffolk Council. They live in a 12 bed house and we also have 5 move on flats were we accommodate families. We offer housing support and signpost to external agencies such as Health outreach. You’ll be our Housing and Property Guru! Focussing on tenancy support, you’ll provide a housing management service to our customers, supporting them to manage their tenancy and rent accounts.  You’ll also help our customers with their housing benefit claims and making sure that these are received on their rent account.  You’ll turn around vacant bed spaces so that new customers who need our help can move in quickly.  You’ll also make sure our service achieves maximum occupancy, and that we are health and safety compliant!

About our team

You’ll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements.  To us we’re not just a team we’re a ‘work family’. Our manager is Janet Wood who has been working with Home Group for over 10 years.   There are 4 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too! We have Anna and Amanda and an office dog, Mikey too.

Working hours

You’ll work on a 3 week rolling rota, the nights shifts are between the hours of 4.30pm to Midnight the 7am till 9am the next morning 3 nights then 4 nights. We all take turns working days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

On call nights:

We provide 24-hour support to our customers each day and every day. In this role you may be expected to work during the twilight hours doing waking nights work.

Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank.  You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid weekly!

About you

You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds.  You will have some experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively. As a Housing Management Coordinator you have experience in managing a housing management caseload and overseeing landlord and housing management duties. You know all about re-letting of rooms or units, collecting rents, and taking formal tenancy action when needed. You’re great at managing your own time and have strong written and verbal communication skills. 

Must be able to use tech

To make sure that we keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's really important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

Essential

To make sure our customers are well supported, it’s important that you have worked in a supported housing environment before. Don’t worry, we won’t drop you in the deep end, we’ll help you to understand how things work at Home Group!

Driving nice to have / public transport

As this is a community based role, you’ll need to travel around to spend time with your customers. You could do this role using public transport, or if you drive and have access to a car that would also be amazing! (We pay your expenses to cover this use!)

If you are successful, we need you to have an Enhanced Disclosure Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service which we’ll pay for.
