We have fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We support our brilliant customers who have all suffered from mental ill health and /or learning disabilities. They all live semi-independently in a block of 8 individual self-contained flats. We help our customers with a wide variety of tasks all focused around independent living skills be this basic household skills or returning to work.

About our team
You’ll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us were not just a team we’re a ‘work family’. Our manager is Sue, she has been with Home Group for four years and has many years’ experience working with vulnerable adults. There are 4 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too! The rest of the team are Sandy, Nikki and Dave who between them have worked for Home Group for a massive 28 years! As a team we have discovered that problems seem so much less daunting when cake is available.
You’ll work on a rota basis between the hours of 9 – 5 and take your turn working Monday to Friday, every other weekend and occasional bank holidays. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!
Looking for a more flexible working pattern? You can also join us on a flexible basis by being part of our bank. You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash and get paid on a weekly basis.
You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. You will have experience in safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.
We help change our customer’s lives for the better. You’ll play your part by assisting in the delivery of tasks that are based on our customers personal support plans, and their needs and aspirations. You’ll work with our Support Workers and external agencies to assess and engage support for our customers. We empower our customers to develop the independent living skills they need, to successfully move on. Together we’ll make a difference!
To make sure that we keep our records straight, and customers safe, it's really important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)
It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!
It is not a requirement of this role that you are able to drive, however there will be occasions where you are required to accompany customers to community based appointments which can be done using public transport. If you do drive and have the use of a car then all travel expenses will be covered. During your training period occasional nights away may be required due to training locations, again all expenses will be covered.
If you are successful, we need you to have an Enhanced Disclosure Check through the Disclosure and Barring Service which we’ll pay for.
