We're looking for a skilled Digital Officer to join the team and help deliver high quality content, products and services for Londoners.

Purpose of the job

• Taking on a pivotal role in the management of London Councils’ websites and digital products, and delivering an excellent experience for users.

• Taking a user-focused approach to transforming the way London Councils delivers online services.

• Designing and editing engaging digital content and ensure it is shown to users in the right place and in the best format.

• Developing London Councils’ digital products to help ensure consistency, effectiveness and excellence.

• Applying the culture, processes, business models and technologies of the internet era to London Councils to respond to people’s raised expectations.

What you'll do

• Work with the digital lead to manage London Councils’ websites and digital products. Manage relationships with a range of external partners and contractors.

• Embed and implement good digital practice across London Councils.

• Train and nurture staff across all levels of the organisation, seeking out new and innovative ways of working.

• Work with the communications team to check and advise on content prepared by others for style and suitability.

• Lead and support on technical matters, act as technical contact with hosting, applications and maintenance contractors, and monitor the technical environment to ensure all London Councils websites are robust and reliable.

• Ensure availability of digital analytics to support the organisation in monitoring, evaluating and planning content and communications.

• Ensure all work takes account of legal requirements, including accessibility, media law, data protection, rules governing local government publicity, and London Councils policies and protocols.

• Carry out any other duties appropriate to the post.
